Veterinarians
Dr. Julie Janes, DVM
Dr. Julie Janes graduated from Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and founded Georgetown Veterinary Clinic the same year. Dr. Janes built GTVC from the ground up and has grown it into the state-of-the-art facility it is today, offering gold-standard care to the community’s beloved pets. Dr. Janes corralled barn cats and stray dogs as a young girl, telling anyone who would listen that she wanted to be a veterinarian and have twins. Both dreams came to fruition, and in addition, she’s now a proud grandma (Juju!) to Dr. Corum’s little boys.
Dr. Jordan Corum, DVM
Dr. Jordan Corum’s love of veterinary medicine started at a young age under the mentorship of Dr. Julie Janes, her mom and founder of the Georgetown Veterinary Clinic (GTVC). Dr. Corum graduated from Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Corum now serves as Medical Director at GTVC where she has developed a special interest in internal medicine and client education. Dr. Corum and her husband (also named Jordan) share 2 happy, fun, little boys who are her pride and joy.
DR. BECKY SCHUT, DVM
Dr. Becky Schut grew up in New Hampshire where she developed a love for healing and rehabilitating animals. She moved to central Kentucky for undergrad where she completed her Bachelor’s degrees in Equine Therapy and Business Administration. Dr. Schut then decided to pursue veterinary medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She completed a veterinary internship after graduation near Oklahoma City followed by practicing at a mixed animal hospital near Louisville, Kentucky before being recruited to Illinois. After almost 4 years in Illinois, she decided it was time to come back “home,” closer to family near Louisville, and has been with Georgetown Veterinary Clinic since July 2021 where she has continued to expand her interest in rehabilitation by completing courses at Chi University to perform acupuncture on animals.
When Dr. Schut isn’t seeing patients at the clinic, she and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time at their small farm with their many animals including horses, dogs, cats, chickens, guinea fowl, and multiple large fish aquariums at home.
